Editing for every budget is a specialty at K-Video.
Highly trained, professional personnel work with state-of-the art Mac
and PC computer systems to give you exactly what you want in a final
product.
Linear Editing
Linear editing does not use a computer and is the simplest,
least expensive form of editing. It involves copying the “good”
parts of a tape (or tapes) over to a new tape, usually in the same order
they appear on the original tape(s). Specialized equipment at K-Video
allows more precise cuts than standard tape decks. Basic titles are
included.
Non-Linear Editing
In non-linear editing, video is first loaded onto a
computer and digitized. This allows K-Video to easily rearrange shots
much like moving paragraphs around in a word processing program. Video
from several different sources can be combined. Other options with non-linear
editing include:
- Audio enhancement
- Transitions like wipes, dissolves, and pinwheels
to signal a change in time or place
- Title screens
- Graphics (like a logo) added over video
- 3-D animation
- Voice-overs
- Music (bring your own or have us choose from no-royalty
sources)
- Special effects like slow/fast motion, freeze frames,
split screens
The final product can be put on DVD, VHS or other format
of your choosing.
DVD Authoring
Authoring allows the creation of menus or chapter points
within a DVD so that you can jump to those points with just a push of
a button. The DVD can also be programmed to start as soon as you pop
it into a DVD player or computer. DVD authoring can be combined with
non-linear editing or we can simply add a menu structure to a video
you have already created.
Continuous Loops
K-Video can combine a program several times on a single
tape so that it runs over and over for as long as the tape runs (up
to 180 minutes). You can extend this length of time by using or renting
a VCR that automatically rewinds the tape and plays it over when it’s
finished. This way you can start it in the morning and not worry about
it for the rest of the day. This is great for sales conventions, wedding
receptions, etc.
